What’s This

Here is the non-win32 port of Monkey’s Audio Codec (MAC) and plug-ins for various players. Currently only supports the Linux/i386_32 platform and the XMMS plugin. In the future, more platforms and more players will be supported. It consists of two parts, one part is MAC, including a command line front end mac, which can be used for encoding, decoding, verification and compression ratio conversion, as well as a shared library and some header files. The other part is an XMMS input plugin. , it uses the shared library of the previous part to complete the actual decoding work, so the former part is required.

Monkey’s Audio is a fast, powerful and lossless digital audio compression algorithm. Its official release is only the Windows version. I tried to contact the original author and I have not responded, so I can’t give back the changes made here to the author.
